Hotel Restaurant Hackmann-Atter

This seems like a place for a one-night stop beside the highway, with the hotel itself not being the main business, despite booking platforms calling it four-star. Even after charging immediately, they may not keep bookings up to date, which can make self-check-in confusing. I thought it was just me, but there have been other reviews about this over the years. It would be fine if the issue were resolved quickly, politely, and in a way that considered the customer. Instead, I was told to my face that my experience didn’t matter and met with awful hospitality from an angry, impolite administrator in her late 20s who yelled at me. She said she was also her own manager and the owner’s daughter-in-law, so there seemed to be no one else to complain to, and no sign anyone would care.

The beds are comfortable and the hotel is nice, though the bathroom can feel cramped. There’s a strange smell in there, perhaps from the plumbing. Keep the door shut and flush often, even when you haven’t used it.

The rooms were nice and the hotel was clean, with parking in a lot across the road. It was a pleasant stay apart from the odd check-in experience: we never saw anyone from the hotel, either on arrival or when leaving. No one explained where breakfast was, so we assumed it was in the restaurant in the next building.

Breakfast was superb, with a fantastic range. The hotel is lovely, though a bit far from amenities. We walked to a park center for beers and pizza, which was great, but nothing is open on a Sunday. Enjoy!
