Prize By Radisson, Osnabruck

The beds were extremely uncomfortable, and the polyester pillows made for poor sleep. Everything felt synthetic, from the bedding to the interiors, and the hotel’s aggressively minimal setup seemed designed to cut costs at every turn. The cashless policy was extremely annoying and unacceptable. We arrived with cash and were treated with suspicion. Even as Radisson Rewards VIP guests, we couldn’t check in until we presented a card, which felt disrespectful and unprofessional. Reception doubles as a bar and had just one staff member, leading to delays and a chaotic welcome. That may save the Radisson Group staffing costs, but it hurt the service. With the cashless rule, cheap materials, uncomfortable beds and poor service, this place is hard to recommend even at a low price.

The hotel is in a good central location. But with this new minimal-staffing trend, one person working reception can hold up everyone else’s check-in when a customer has a problem. That happened to us, and we waited nearly an hour.

Really comfortable and cozy, this modern hotel has a distinctive feel. It’s a ten-minute walk to the center, and I was especially impressed by how affordable it was.

The rooms are a little small, but they have a modern style. A great base for exploring Osnabrück.
