Shops are an easy five-minute walk away, and parking costs a small fee, less than at some overnight lots. The staff are very friendly and breakfast is adequate. For the price, it’s perfectly fine.

We ended up cancelling all four rooms and booking clean, nice, new ones at the Ibis Budget near the train station for €56 and €46 respectively. We were glad we didn’t stay at this unfriendly, unclean hotel. We’d booked three double rooms and one single for a girls’ trip, arriving on Saturday in good spirits, with three of us at first. After a lot of back and forth we finally got the keys. The first two rooms were old, dark, and unappealing, nothing like the online photos. The larger balcony room, booked for €85, was unacceptable even at €30. There was construction debris and an unemptied ashtray outside. Worse, the bed had used duvets that had only been lightly turned down. When we complained, the unhelpful receptionist said he wasn’t sure he could reach anyone to fix it and couldn’t make the beds himself. We told him the woman was still at the hotel, and they both came to the room to discuss why it hadn’t been made. At 3:10 PM they worked out the previous guests had probably checked out late. Not even an apology.

The place feels as if nothing has changed since Napoleon. Comrade Stalin would have praised its steadfastness. For peace and quiet, you may as well camp on the highway shoulder. If you’re over 80 and deaf, it’s perfectly doable.

The pedestrian center is about a 15-minute walk away, and there’s nothing to see right outside the hotel. Everything else was average, from breakfast and rooms to the staff, all C+. Internet was poor, at least in room 206, and reception closes after 10 PM.
