Campinghotel Eulenburg - Hostel

We started our motorhome trip around the Harz mountains here, and it worked really well as a base. The town is about 1 km away, with plenty of supermarkets, shops and restaurants. Toilets and showers were very clean, and there were facilities for washing dishes and doing laundry. There's also a cafe restaurant on site serving food and drinks in the early evening. The pool looked lovely, but the weather wasn't warm enough for us to use it. The owner was friendly and helpful, and spoke good English.

The sanitary facilities are good. There's a small field for trekking tents, and that's pretty much exactly what it is. I'd say this camping works better for campers and caravans than for longer stays in tents.

The price felt fair, and I'd very likely stay at Eulenburg camping again when I'm back in the Harz. When I travel, I mainly need somewhere to pitch my tent and come back to sleep, and this place suited that well. I spent two nights here in my tent in late August and had no real complaints. The site is within a reasonable walk of Ostorode am Harz and sits just outside the Harz nationalpark. The pool looked clean and cared for, though I didn't use it. The toilets and showers looked clean too, with the usual dirt and water on the floor, so just wear shoes. The ground was a bit rocky and made tent pegs hard to get in, haha. Kidding aside, the area is sheltered enough that it'd take a severe storm to blow away my Igloo-style tent.

There are woods, a stream and a pool here, and it was peaceful and very clean. You can choose your pitch, and there's a small shop on site as well as a restaurant next door. Definitely a place worth staying.
