The kitchen only had enough plates for three, with very little cutlery and just a few cups. At the tiny, "cute" dining table there were only two chairs, so we’d probably have had to eat in shifts. The whole place felt cramped for four of us, including our children, aged 7 and 12. The beds were winter-weight, even in summer, and the living-room mattress had a disgusting stain on it. The pretty blinds on the windows also didn’t block out the light. We booked Holiday apartment Maia in the Kurparkresidenz Baabe through Booking.com. Never again.

We’ve stayed here three times now, and have loved it every time. Whichever apartment we’ve been in, it’s had everything we needed.

Apartment No. 11 was comfortable and very clean, in a beautiful spot right by the sea.
