Landhaus Wilkens

We’d love to return next year after such a memorable stay. The hosts were warm and friendly, and the beach and spa gardens were only about 100 meters away. There’s also a bakery with a café and restaurants very close to the country house. Our Reetdachblick apartment was spotless and had plenty of room for two. All the kitchen appliances we needed were there, and we had absolutely nothing to complain about.

The covered terrace was lovely to sit on in the mornings and evenings, and after long outings on hot days, the air conditioning was a real bonus. We stayed for a week in Wilkens' bungalow, Hanseatchen, which had everything we needed for two in a very compact, clean space. The Baltic Sea is only 200 meters away, and the shops are within walking distance. It’s especially well suited to naturists. There are plenty of sights around the island, and some can be reached by bus for free. We’d definitely recommend this place to stay.

The Wilkens family's campsite is in a quiet backyard, with shops nearby and a great sandy beach about 100 meters away, if that. There’s also a playground close by. The site has electricity, water, Wi-Fi, and waste disposal. The toilets and showers at the beach were spotlessly clean at the end of March. One thing felt unfair: the tourist tax counts both arrival and departure as full days, so two nights meant paying for three days. There’s also a 53 cent per dog per day charge, and adults pay around €2.65 a day. We really enjoyed our stay, found everything very clean, and highly recommend the campsite. The owners are friendly and helpful.

The house is in a quiet location, with lots of room to relax in the large grounds. The beach is about 200 meters away, and supermarkets and bakeries are a five-minute walk. We stayed in the Sommerwind apartment in autumn 2015 and found the whole property in excellent condition, from the grounds to the historic thatched-roof house. The apartment had fresh furnishings and thoughtful details, plus a fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, bathtub, smart TV, and Wi-Fi. It felt professionally managed, and the owners were attentive and helpful. There’s a private parking space and a carport for bicycles. I’d highly recommend the apartment and its friendly owners if you’re looking for a place with attention to detail in southeast Rügen.
