We came back for a second holiday, and the peaceful setting and magnificent view over Lake Schmachter made it easy to see why. The staff are all incredibly friendly, and breakfast has plenty for us, though scrambled eggs aren't served every day. Parking is included, and there's even a pool in the building, which we didn't try. A small drinks fridge in the room would be useful, and a balcony clothes dryer would help since things never dry properly in the bathroom.

We loved having a homemade cake selection in the afternoon, and later could sit in the sunshine with a drink and look out over the lake. The guesthouse is small and clean, with simple but lovely rooms. Breakfast is uncomplicated and has something for everyone, and they promptly take care of requests. The staff are really friendly. It was just the relaxing lakeside getaway we wanted. Thanks, we'd love to come again! 😃

The water fountain and playground are a hit with the kids, just about a two-minute walk away, and we really enjoy the view across Lake Schmachter. This is our third year here, and we're happy with the clean rooms, friendly staff, and a breakfast buffet that's more than enough for us. In summer there's also the Schmachter Lounge, where different artists play music. That's not necessarily everyone's thing, of course.
