This felt like a complete rip-off. The place was meant to have a sea view, but there was none, and they charged us another 36 euros for linen. I feel as if my money was stolen. Really bad. These privately owned holiday flats seem stuck in the 60s, so I’d sooner choose a hotel or a modern Airbnb.

We’re enjoying our holiday in Apartment Morgenröte. It’s clean and nicely furnished, with two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and bathroom. The French balcony on the third floor has an unobstructed sea view, and there’s an elevator, parking and permission to bring a dog. It took us a long time to get a booking because it was always full.

The apartments don’t always seem worth their price in terms of furnishings and amenities, and the prime location is used to justify very high, inflated rents. Still, Binz is a great location, close to both the beach and town center. The villa itself is stunning, with classic seaside resort architecture and an elevator. Parking may be included, depending on which accommodation you book.

We had Apartment 11 in the middle, and it was impossible to sit on the balcony with a coffee and enjoy the sea view in peace. The balcony is really more like a passage between apartments, and it faces the street and town on the other side of the building, not the sea. You can barely see the sea anyway. The window view is poor too, mostly the roof of the restaurant below, with only a limited outlook. We can’t recommend this apartment and won’t book it again.
