AKZENT Brauerei Hotel Hirsch

My only complaint is the parking. There aren’t enough spaces for a hotel this large.

We wish we could have stayed longer and will be back. The rooms were a good size, with comfy beds and balconies, and the town has a few shops and a beautiful old church. Dinner and breakfast were great, and the service was impeccable. Every member of staff was fantastic, from check-in and drinks on the terrace through room cleaning, breakfast, and our departure. Thank you for such a fantastic stay and for having such a special place.

We won’t be returning. At check-in, the staff were impatient and rolled their eyes while card transfers failed. They kept asking whether we had another card, even though we gave the same answer each time. Breakfast was average and identical throughout our five-day stay. The coffee machine didn’t work, and coffee was only served on request. It was hard to get the two staff members’ attention, and they were slow while struggling to clear tables and refill food. The scrambled eggs tasted chemical, the pancakes were undercooked, the fruit salad seemed fermented, and flies were all over the food. We were only told about paid underground parking, with no mention of the free outdoor parking behind the hotel. Our four-person room had just one chair, and the soap in all the containers was heavily diluted with water.

We were made to feel very uncomfortable as hotel guests when we asked for food safe for our baby, who reacts to cows’ milk through my wife’s breast milk. The restaurant said all dishes were cooked in butter, except the salad, and refused to make anything else. They treated our request for an allergen-free alternative like an unreasonable nuisance. The kebab place across the road was very good.
