The regular events are a big part of why I keep coming back, and I’ve been happily attending them for over a year. There’s the traditional Burns Supper, a special Valentine’s Day event, creative Veganuary, the legendary summer Flammkuchen weeks, "Fishtime," and promotions featuring Saarland legumes. Each one feels unique and carefully planned, with great food and atmosphere. The restaurant, attached hotel, and dog training school make for a place where hospitality, good food, and a love of animals come together. I’ve considered it a favorite for over a year, and I’m always glad to return. The food is world-class to me: creative, well balanced, and made with a lot of attention to detail. I’m especially impressed by the steady focus on regional products. You can taste the freshness and care in every dish. The hotel is family-run, and from arrival you feel welcome and looked after. It has a warm, stylish, cozy atmosphere that still feels sophisticated, and you can tell how much passion goes into everything. For me, it’s more than a restaurant or hotel, it’s somewhere to settle in, enjoy yourself, and feel at ease. Definitely worth five stars and a recommendation.

February 8, 2026. We arrived just in time, but today was a huge disappointment. The main course never showed up for an hour and a half after we entered. We were sitting visibly without food almost in the middle of the restaurant before we asked about it. They apologized and said it would be ready in five minutes. When it finally came, the beef cheeks were barely warm enough to eat, and the chicken was visibly undercooked at the bone. Earlier, we’d had to ask and remind them three times for a bottle of mineral water. The appetizer, venison broth, was almost oversalted. We ended things before dessert and explained the problems. As a goodwill gesture, they charged us only for the appetizer and drinks. Still, two stars for the meat itself, which was actually good, and for the goodwill.
