We made a mistake while booking during a trip and called to ask for the reservation to be cancelled. The administration assured us there was nothing to worry about, so we carried on with our journey. But then the hotel charged our card more than €90. We were very disappointed. We'd asked to cancel just 2-5 minutes after making the booking.

The restaurant was so good that I ate there every night all week, with no reason to look elsewhere. The staff were kind and attentive, and the hotel was clean, pleasant, and welcoming. I travel for work and have stayed in a lot of hotels, and my room here was very nice. I'm looking forward to coming back to Papenburg.

I stayed at Hotel Restaurant Engeln for three nights. The staff were polite and always ready to help. My room was comfortable, though it didn't have a fridge, and you'll want to bring your own shower soap and shampoo. The main shopping area is a bit of a walk from the center, but still walkable. The weak Wi-Fi was the main drawback. I couldn't work in my room, so reception pointed me to another space. A seminar was being held there, and I had to leave, but I was able to work over by the bar.

The location was good and the internet was okay, but the room was on the small side. No comment on breakfast... by the end of the week, the salmon seemed ready to start breathing again.
