Holiday Inn - the niu, Flux Passau by IHG

The staff were terrific, even though they seemed not very familiar with IHG standards and protocol. The facility opened in March 2025 and is clean, with a nicely presented breakfast buffet. The owner clearly hires good staff. The building and lobby gave me college dorm and hostel vibes, and there are settling cracks in the ceilings. The guest rooms were disappointing. The bed had two small sheets instead of one full sheet, as the photo shows, and they come apart whenever you move your legs. The duvet and pillow covers felt like the cheapest material, almost like sleeping under upholstery. There's no telephone in the room. They provide one squeeze bottle of all-purpose soap, which I'd avoid because it can dry out your skin and damage your hair. Maybe it's fine for younger guests, but as a seasoned traveler I wouldn't rate it as high as a fourth-class hotel, unless all you're after is the lovely staff and inviting breakfast buffet.

A complete waste of time and money. There's not even tea, coffee, or drinking water in the rooms. The atmosphere feels pessimistic and dim, and the rooms don't seem suitable for business travelers or families. It feels like a typical economy hotel.

The room was nice, with a good shower, a comfortable bed, and a decent breakfast spread. But the road is right there, and German trucks start early. Traffic woke us around 5am, and we could clearly hear big trucks and people revving their engines. I wish they'd invested in better soundproofing. It's an otherwise decent hotel, but don't count on sleeping past sunrise.

We had a really comfortable stay, and the hospitality was impressive. The people at the front desk were very friendly. We look forward to coming back!
