Everything was clean and well maintained, including the room and its very nice bathroom. The pool and hot tub were amazing, and the staff were so friendly they even gave us water for the road. A 10 out of 10 experience.

The pool and spa were fine, but the rooms are extremely dated and badly need renovation. The old, balding waiter was horrendous and ruined the stay for us. We tried our best to speak German or French, but he made us feel completely uncomfortable. He claimed he didn't speak English, then spoke it fluently with the French couple next to us, who also had a bizarre experience. I wouldn't recommend staying here. If you do, I'd go down into town for food, where the waiters might treat you a little better.

The room and hotel were clean, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast staff were really nice and helpful, and I had a laugh with the chef. The daytime lobby staff were helpful too. There's a daily bulletin with the weather and things to do, a nice little gimmick, and we got a 'travel pack' for the road when leaving. Depending on where you sit, the surroundings could offer a wonderful view. The main concern was the late evening staff in the lobby and lobby bar. One night, as we were heading to bed, the bartender offered water for the room. We said we still had the water provided on arrival, but he insisted we take some. Later we saw a charge of €9,00 for it. A bummer, though maybe it was a language issue. Another night I politely asked a different bartender if there'd been a mix-up because I'd received a different beer from the one I ordered. I said it was no big deal, but he disagreed. Then the lobby staff member made a fuss when I calmly suggested changing the English menu to prevent misunderstandings. He walked away shouting, 'We have to change a lot around here'. It felt really weird and scary. Check which facilities are open before you travel. Maybe we were just there at the wrong time, but only the lobby bar and restaurant Bacchus were open during our stay. The pool bar, another bar, and the other restaurants were closed. The pool terrace was the only sunny place we could sit outside, and the lobby bar was a bit of a walk from there. There was no food available between 6PM and 9PM apart from restaurant Bacchus, which has really good but expensive food. There were no options for a light meal or snack in that window, and the restaurants in town were closed too. The room was advertised on Booking as having a view, but ours looked onto the parking lot. They should distinguish between room types in the listing or stop advertising this as a selling point. The bed was nice, but the rest felt outdated and worn, with holes in the curtains and occasional trouble flushing the toilet. The terrace at Bacchus has a really nice view, but it was closed. We were allowed one drink outside before dinner. There's also a terrace outside the pool, but there's no view of the surroundings, and Caeser’s bar was closed. Given the location, there's more potential here. We found the hotel a bit outdated and think it could use renovation. That's just our personal view, but with the other issues it didn't feel like a 5-star experience. It may have been a case of the wrong place at the wrong time.

The building was pristine and clean throughout, including the pool, wellness area, and gym. Everyone on the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the service and food were great. The superior rooms felt a little warm for my taste, so air conditioning there would make the place perfect. We had a stunning stay and will definitely come back. Auf Wiedersehen!

We had some lovely afternoons at the swimming pool, which wasn't too crowded. The snacks we ordered straight from the pool were very good, and that service was convenient. The staff were welcoming and ready to help. As French guests, we always managed to communicate well, in French or English.
