Ferienhof Kirschner

The kids loved visiting the goats, rabbits, ponies, chickens, and pigs several times a day. We spent a week here with our 4- and 1.5-year-old daughters and our caravan, and it was a wonderful stay. There’s hardly any traffic, and the small number of pitches gives the place a cozy feel. The pool was great for children, but the daily 7 pm activity was the real highlight, from pony rides to campfires and even truck driving. The owner was friendly, helpful, and always nearby.

The hosts clearly put a lot into the evening activities. We enjoyed the campfire, shared barbecue, tractor ride, milking competition, and more, and the other families made for a peaceful, lovely atmosphere. Our nine days at a pitch with our campervan and our two children, aged 4 years and 4 months, were pure bliss. The bread roll selection was varied and tasty, and the toilets and showers nearby were very clean. There’s also a washing machine. The fully fenced pool was cleaned every morning, and it was reassuring to see parents and teens carefully close the gate so little ones couldn’t wander in alone. Getting around without a car could be tricky: public transport is hard to access, and the cycle paths don’t connect all the way. I wouldn’t recommend cycling with small children in a trailer or having them ride on their own. We felt very comfortable and would love to return.

We were sorry to leave after a week at the Kirschner family's farm with our 2- and 5-year-olds. The hosts made us feel so welcome, and the farm is beautiful, with far too much for children and grown-ups to explore to fit into a review. Our apartment was exceptionally well kept, with shutters and fly screens on the windows, plus a filter coffee machine and dishwasher. Bring your own basics like salt and oil, since groceries aren’t supplied for hygiene reasons. The bread delivery, raised herb garden, and chilled drinks vending machine in the barn were especially handy. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely holiday!
