Franken Motel

The west-facing rooms get unbearably hot in the daytime. It's 32°C outside right now and much hotter indoors. There's no air conditioning, only a fan, and it barely helps when the room feels like 40°C. I'm trying to work with a wet towel over my shoulders, sitting right in the fan's breeze, just to keep somewhat cool.

This motel works for a short stay, but anyone staying several days should bring their own towels. They only clean after checkout, when they change the towels. In my room the cleaning felt superficial, with plenty of dust under the bed. The bathroom tiles weren't fully installed, and there were a few small damages, including on the bed. To switch the light on or off I had to go to the door, since there was no separate light or switch beside the bed. The room did have a closet, nightstands, a table, and chairs, though the TV was very small.

Getting the key was like an escape room: no one was on site, so I had to call the number on the front of the hotel and get a code over the phone. The TV didn't work either. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large and beautiful.

A complete disaster. There was no mention when booking that the towels wouldn't be changed or the room cleaned during our stay. Be careful, because it isn't specified anywhere.
