I’ve stayed in all kinds of places across Europe and the US, and after five years living in Germany, I’ve never had an experience this lacking in hospitality. I’m actually spending tonight in my car in a parking area off the autobahn. I had booked a room for tonight through booking dot com. I missed a message they sent through the app earlier in the evening, and when I replied, they told me I could no longer check in. I asked if that meant I’d have to sleep in my car, and got back, “what does it matter to me—you cannot enter the accommodation!” They could send a snarky reply to someone with a reservation, but wouldn’t let me into the room. Their apparent bedtime is 8 pm, so don’t arrive later if you expect to be checked in. They rudely refused to let me in.

I was welcomed so warmly and shown around straight away. The vacation apartment was spotless and had everything I could want, and it felt like a place where I could really relax and feel at home. Excellent value for money. Thank you so much, Family Lauschke. Best wishes, Nadine 😃

I’d happily stay here again. It’s a lovely vacation rental with everything you need, and it’s easy to get to nearby larger towns such as Altenburg.

The mattresses have seen better days, and the cleanliness left a lot to be desired.
