The rooms were okay, but the bathroom was very old and the cleanliness wasn't up to my standards. You can hear both the street and your neighbours, and there are no mosquito nets or air conditioning, so summer could get sweaty. Staff weren't especially warm, though they weren't rude either. Payment was a hassle: cash or EC card only. Breakfast costs 10€ per person and was mediocre at best. The coffee reminded me of the imitation coffee German soldiers had in WWI, and there were barely any vegetarian or vegan choices. Not worth the price. The one positive is that they do have rooms.

We went with a Franconian friend, who thought the cheese salad was excellent, so maybe it just wasn't to our taste. My boyfriend regretted ordering it: lettuce, sauerkraut, very sugary cucumbers with yoghurt dressing, and a couple slices of cheese. The menu listed three vegetarian dishes, but two weren't available, which made the place seem unprepared. I chose the fish, which was very nice. The food was generally very well done, and despite that lack of preparation, the welcome was warm and kind.
