City Hotel Dresden Radebeul

We chose this place because it was near an event we attended. The room was spacious and well kept, with a big bathtub if that's your thing. We both really liked the breakfast. I wish I'd had time to check out the spa area. The woman who checked us out was a little unfriendly, though everyone else we spoke with was great.

There’s a huge underground parking garage that’s easy to reach and feels very safe. It even has pleasant music 😄. The staff I dealt with were helpful and friendly, and there’s a small playground for kids. Still, I’d call the place average: fairly clean, but very old, with plenty of things that need improving before I’d give it five stars. Getting from the lobby to the room can be quite a journey, especially with a baby carriage. The hotel isn’t baby or toddler friendly, with no carriage ramps. You have to take the elevator directly to the garage parking area to reach the lobby or go outside, since the main entrances aren't usable with a carriage. The rooms aren't a good fit for one either, as the entrances are very small and tight. Check the floor plan I posted if you're coming with lots of luggage and kids. The pillows are very flat. Bring your own or ask for extra ones, because I ended up with neck pain. The small playground is a nice touch. Enjoy your stay and have fun 👍🏻😊

We stayed at Villa Gottfried, one of the hotel buildings, from 16/10 - 19/10. At first we couldn't find the hotel because its name didn't match the one on our reservation 👎. In the parking garage, people in bathrobes and slippers were walking through to the spa, which felt odd. Every building has an elevator leading to the parking area and spa facilities. Our room was large and had a beautiful view, but the beds were very hard and uncomfortable. I woke during the night feeling like I was on an ironing board. The bathroom light was too dim for me to do my makeup properly. After our sightseeing trip on the second evening, we found the room hadn't been cleaned at all. We called reception and waited for clean towels and more toilet paper. On the third evening the bed still hadn't been made, though we did get clean towels and the rest. At checkout, the receptionist was professional and charged us one less parking/night fee because we complained about the cleaning.

The location is nice, but after walking in from outside we found there wasn't even a bottle of water in the room. We had to go back to the bar and pay 7€ for one. The bed was really uncomfortable, and we were exhausted the next day. What a shame.
