Bora HotSpaResort

We hardly left the hotel, since our plan was mostly to sleep, relax and make the most of the amenities. We came from Zurich for a weekend at the Bora and had a wonderful stay. Breakfast was included, with a broad buffet and lots of milk alternatives, which suited me well. We also had dinner on site. The food was fresh and creative, and the chicken breast was cooked just right, with the skin still really crispy. There seemed to be a great selection of wine and spirits, and you could ask for pairing suggestions. We used the hotel parking too. The sauna area was a big part of why we came. There’s a good range of saunas, plus a steam room, ice baths, infrared therapy, massages and their own onsen, which was over 45°C. They were all amazing. Check the schedule ahead of time. The lakeside setting was as lovely as we’d imagined, with quiet, foggy mornings that turned sunny in mid-January, and lots of swans and other seabirds around the lake access. Radolfzell provides tourism tickets for public transport for your whole stay. We didn’t use ours, but that was a nice, unexpected extra. We enjoyed the weekend and will definitely come back for another relaxing break.

Room 301 was especially handy for getting to the spa, since the lift is right across from it. Our Japanese room was spacious, and the shower had amazing water pressure. Breakfast had plenty of variety and was served in a lovely, bright room. The spa was well maintained, though very busy between Christmas and New Year. Bora is easy to get to and has both indoor and outdoor parking. Everyone on staff was friendly, and the fourth-floor bar has a super nice view of the lake.

The view of the lake from our room was beautiful, and the rooftop restaurant was comfortable with amazing food. Breakfast was delicious and had loads of choices. With several coffee machines, there were no morning queues. It’s a short walk from the train station, and the staff were courteous, kind and friendly. The accommodation felt inviting, elegant and modern. This is one of the best hotels I’ve been fortunate enough to stay at.

The rooms had plenty of space and beautiful décor, but the staff’s kindness impressed us most, both at reception and in the restaurant. Domenico at reception and Antonio in the restaurant really made the experience for us. We’d highly recommend the romantik für zwei package. We’ll be back!
