Berghotel Rehlegg

The bathroom is on the small side, but it’s well equipped for its size. The setting and views alone deserve ten stars. From the hotel you can walk to St Sebastian’s Chapel, then carry on to Hintersee and back. It’s a beautiful route, and the hotel sits right in the middle of it. The staff are warm and welcoming, especially at the front of house. Thoughtful room touches like a sauna bag and hot water bottle made a difference, and they even packed us lunch when we checked out. Breakfast and dinner are both buffets, with a solid variety included in the price. The outdoor sauna, set at a perfect 65 degrees, looks out over a stunning view of Ramsau.

The staff and service were a highlight of our stay. They were very helpful, and most spoke good English. We were in the minority as English people and used Google translate to read the menus. We booked through Secret Escapes and felt the deal was excellent value for money. The hotel exceeded our expectations, and the 5* reviews really do reflect how good it is. It’s warm and comfortable, nicely furnished, and has wonderful views. The atmosphere is quiet, friendly, and relaxing. The food was tremendous, with lots of clearly labelled options for my dairy intolerance. The spa areas were clean and quiet. We also had an exhilarating dip in the outdoor heated pool in cold weather, and enjoyed the outdoor textile sauna with its scenic views. The in-room sauna was new to us, though it takes a while to heat up. There are walks starting right from the hotel. We took the bus one way to Berchtesgaden for the Christmas market and the other way to the beautiful lake at Hintersee. The bus was free with a guest card. We’re so glad we chose this hotel for a relaxing pre-Christmas break. It was a real treat, and we’d certainly return.

We stayed at Berghotel Rehlegg for 4 days, and it was a memorable holiday we won’t forget. The views are breathtaking, with cosy places to sit and take them in. The hotel also has great facilities, including a pool, sauna, and fitness room, and the service was absolutely perfect. Staff used our names, treated us kindly, and looked after everything we needed right through the end of our stay. We’re grateful for their help and generosity. They even sent us off with some delicious fresh bread. My daughter and I will definitely be back.

The rooms have breathtaking mountain views, and the place has Alpine charm with modern comfort throughout. At Berghotel Rehlegg, the warm, thoughtful staff made us feel truly at home. From the moment we arrived in the Bavarian Alps, we felt calm and connected to nature. The hotel has a real sense of care and sustainability, and it’s a place where time seems to slow down. Every stay feels like coming back to something essential: simplicity, serenity, and sincere hospitality. It’s somewhere to breathe deeply, sleep well, and leave with a full heart. Thank you.
