I’ve stayed in hotels across the EU, Asia, and Africa, and German hotels have been the worst in my experience. I was recently bitten by fleas, with marks on my legs and arms. Even after two weeks, nobody had changed the sheets or towels. The room smelled when I came back from work, despite the window being open all day, and the service was beyond words. The quality here is so poor for the price that even a guesthouse in Gambia feels high-class by comparison. I’ve visited Gambia and Senegal; if those countries are called Third World, this hotel feels like a hundred-years-behind Fourth World place. The value gap between Africa and Germany feels like space. Germany seems to have fallen to the bottom among European and EU countries, and there’s no comparison with Asia, it’s like another galaxy.
