The pianist on Friday evening was the best part of our stay. My husband and I came for his birthday, and we really enjoyed the performance. The hotel was clean, with a charming retro-style interior, though the online photos make it look much better than it is. The food was tasty, and breakfast had a good buffet selection. Dinner was also advertised, but turned out to be a buffet with salads and only two main courses. The lovely pictures didn't prepare us for that, or for drinks costing extra, even water. The waiter then asked us to pay for the drinks and leave a tip, which felt unreasonable. At least water should be included. The “aqua center” is just one basement pool, a Finnish sauna, and a steam room. Overall, the photos show a nicer experience than reality.

Getting to the hotel means taking a ferry across the Elbe. Once there, the staff were very friendly and service oriented, and the buffet had a small but good selection, including vegetarian and vegan options. Much of it is homemade, especially the tasty self-baked bread and Brötchen. There's a steam sauna and a hot-air sauna in the spa, along with showers and a relaxation room. They offer free water there, too. Hiking routes like Bastei and the National Park are close by.

The rooms were clean, and I liked the pool and sauna facilities. Restaurant staff were friendly, but reception was a problem. They were unfriendly and couldn't even tell me where the nearest ATM was. Someone at reception in a 4-star hotel should know basic information like that.

What a view! The rooms were nice, and breakfast was excellent. The food was extremely good. Fantastic, in a word.

The accommodation was very good quality, and the staff were really friendly. Breakfasts were very good too. If you can, try for a room with a river view.
