Everything was very nice and well maintained, apart from the lack of an elevator. We stayed in June 2025 and paid an average price. I definitely recommend it.

The apartment had lots of space and was in a great location, so I’d absolutely recommend it. Cleanliness was about eight out of ten. The dishwasher hadn’t been emptied and the cutlery drawers weren’t clean, but those were really minor things. A little coffee creamer would have been a nice addition.

We were initially shocked by the condition of the apartment when we arrived after a long journey, though we did end up feeling comfortable. The beds were comfortable, we slept well, and the Nomite bedding, soft towels, bath mat, and pleasant shower were all good. Kepplers Kosmos is a charming, nicely furnished maisonette, reached by a quaint staircase of about 20 steps. It’s central, two minutes on foot from the Danube and about 10 minutes from the cathedral depending on the route. There’s a pizzeria in the basement of the building, a good Greek restaurant in the Brandl Bräu building diagonally opposite, a hamburger restaurant, the Ostentor cinema, and the Da Vinci on Adolf-Schmetzer-Straße nearby. Ostengasse has a bakery and an alpine specialty shop, and public transport is easy to reach. The communication beforehand was clear and very friendly, the coded entry worked smoothly, and the parking tips were helpful. The main problem was cleanliness. The light switches were sticky, the bathroom fan didn’t work and was very dusty, the windows were dirty and partly broken, there were cobwebs and unknown stains on the bathroom door, and a cabinet in the dining area was missing a door and had splashes on its side. The sink was clogged. Worst of all, the headboards were filthy with yellow grease marks from previous guests, so we covered them with towels. The building entrance and stairwell also felt uninviting, with overflowing cigarette stands from pizzeria customers and grimy entrance doors. We were there over Christmas, but the apartment had no decorations. A few small touches, like a star, a sprig of fir, or an LED candle in an alcove, would have made it cozier. We also missed having reading lamps on both sides of the beds. In the attic, the bed has a bedside table and lamp on only one side, which is awkward when you’re on a box spring bed and have to put glasses, a book, or a water glass on the floor. It should be easy to fix. The kitchen has a Senseo coffee machine, kettle, stove with oven, and dishwasher, plus one frying pan, one saucepan, one casserole dish, two silicone spatulas, a spaghetti server, bread knife, cutlery, cups, glasses, and flat and deep plates. For actual cooking, you’d need to bring things like a cooking spoon, vegetable knife, and pots. There’s a handy small supply of tea, coffee, creamer, toilet paper, dish soap, and a sponge. It’s a lovely central apartment with comfortable beds, and we’d come back if we knew it and the beds would be properly clean and the furnishings improved, especially the reading lamps, bedside tables, and kitchen equipment.

We felt really comfortable in this apartment and would book it again. The location is great and the apartment is very nice, though some of the furnishings need repairing or replacing.
