The quiet was lovely, and the bungalow felt just right for a long weekend surrounded by nature. We stayed in Bungalow Tom and had everything we needed. It isn't luxurious, but it's a great fit for hikers and anyone who loves being outdoors.

We met the new owner and his manager during our April 2026 stay, and both were open to suggestions. It was a real plus. Haus Elisabeth is an older house, but everything was clean and tidy, and the beds were new and very comfortable. The furnishings worked well for our group of 10. We'd brought lots of our own equipment because of the poor Google reviews, but didn't need any of it. Since the ownership change in May 2025, the new owner seems to be making a real effort to improve the house's reputation. The smaller bungalows are being renovated now, and Haus Elisabeth is next. We'd be happy to return and see what's changed. Best wishes to Marco and his team with their plans.

We won't be returning, and I can't recommend this house. We were eight friends, and there was something broken, dirty, or missing everywhere. We even had to wash the dishes and cutlery before using them. The bedrooms and both bathrooms had plenty of dirty corners, and the shower tiles weren't great. The kitchen and dining area stayed dark despite having three light sources, and some of the lights over the table didn't work. The outside looked unappealing, and the entrance was very dated. The downstairs room was okay.

A quiet spot in the woods, well suited to people planning long hikes around Saxon Switzerland. The accommodation is small and best for holidaymakers with modest needs. Getting there means taking a very worn cobblestone road with a slope of about 7%.

The bed inserts are 2x2 meters, so standard duvet covers won't fit. You'll need two inserts for each double bed. Cleanliness could have been better, though it was acceptable, and the kitchen has enough equipment for five people. We were five adults at Haus Elisabeth. Its setting in nature is lovely, and it's handy for the ferry to the Czech Republic and the train station, with regular trains reaching Dresden in an hour. The walk to the station is quite steep, and mobile reception isn't very good. For the price, though, the value is good.
