Pension Goldener Anker

The guesthouse is right in the middle of things and makes a handy base for many hiking routes, including trails into the Czech Republic. We spent 7 days here, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. It couldn't have been better. Many thanks to the owner, Mr. Wunderlich! 👍

We made good use of the guest card, which let us take the bus and ferries, among other things, free of charge. The guesthouse is a convenient base for visiting the many lovely places in the beautiful Elbe Sandstone Mountains, and the value for money is excellent. Mr. Wunderlich, who owns the "Goldener Anker" guesthouse, helped make our short break so enjoyable. Our room was small but very clean. Breakfast was nicely presented and enough for us, as was the delicious evening meal cooked by the owner. There were always two dishes to choose from. We enjoyed the stay and can recommend the guesthouse.

For getting around by bike or public transport, the guesthouse is ideally placed, and the surrounding area made for some unforgettable moments. The rooms were spotless and easily on a par with a 4-star hotel. I also liked being able to charge my phone or camera even when I wasn't in my room. The host is genuinely friendly. On arrival, he showed us around and explained the breakfast and dinner arrangements. Mr. Wunderlich makes breakfast fresh each morning and cooks for guests in the kitchen in the evenings. You can pick between two dinner dishes in the morning. There's a good supply of rolls, and cold cuts are topped up if you prefer a particular kind. Drinks with dinner and similar items are paid for in cash on the last day. If you use Visa, the Aral gas station in the village has an ING DiBa ATM and accepts Visa, unlike the local savings banks. With the lovely surroundings and welcoming host, this stay will stick with me. I can wholeheartedly recommend this guesthouse :)

The evening meal was delicious, and the rooms were comfortable. It's a small, charming guesthouse, and the attentive host goes out of his way to make guests happy and meet every wish.
