We were warmly welcomed two weeks ago, and the hosts even offered free parking for the caravan we'd brought for our longer holiday. We asked to have the heating turned up a little and were told it would be, but the apartment never got warm. The mattresses were quite worn, and the kitchen was missing some dishes and cutlery. We had one tea towel, but nowhere to leave dishes to drip dry. The promised towel change after five days didn't happen. We could take towels from a hallway cupboard, but there were no bath towels, and the laundry basket for used towels that was meant to be in the basement wasn't there. A recycling bin was also meant to be available, but we only found a general waste bin. The information folder said someone would be on site in the mornings, but we didn't see anyone all week.

We were happy with the guesthouse, even though it's on one of the busiest streets. It's only a few dozen meters from the center of Reit and about 20 meters from a supermarket. We're used to quieter places, but the noise didn't bother us much. You get used to it, and then a bit of life is nice. Reit is charming.

The apartment was practical, very clean, and worked well for our family of four, two adults and two kids. The ski bus stops across the road, about 20 meters away, and there's a large Edeka supermarket just as close. You can get cash there with purchases of €20 or more, up to €200. It's a family-run hotel with free Wi-Fi in the apartment. €438 for Sunday through Thursday in the first week of January seemed reasonable.

We'd love to return. The hosts were very friendly, and the holiday apartments were well maintained and fairly priced. Everything in the heart of Reit im Winkl is easy to reach on foot, with hiking mountains right on the doorstep.
