Haus Kersting

We rented apartments V and VI for four days in August 2014, two families with seven people altogether. The apartments looked like the pictures, but we should have been told about the low ceilings. You’d have to be a “GNOME” not to keep banging your head. In one apartment, the shower was so low you couldn’t stand upright. The toilet in the other smelled so bad we couldn’t leave the door open. Both apartments were dirty and dusty. The plates, glasses, pots, cutlery, and other kitchen things were greasy and had food stuck to them, so we had to wash everything again before using it. Then they charged us 50 euros for final cleaning, which was the most shameful part. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

After being disappointed with our hotel, we needed somewhere else that same evening. We found these holiday rentals through Google and contacted them directly. On Good Friday evening, the owner showed us two apartments. One hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly yet, but I preferred it because it had an extra room for our child and a slightly nicer view from the table. She offered to let us come back about three hours later so she could finish cleaning, even though it was Good Friday evening and our family was there. Thank you again for that! The apartments were well equipped, the rooms were clean, and the owners were very friendly. We’d highly recommend the rentals.

We had a wonderful week at Haus Kersting. The apartment was spacious, very clean, and had everything we needed. We’re often in Reit im Winkl, so we’ll definitely book there again. Thanks again!

The balcony has a beautiful mountain view, and the price seemed reasonable. It’s about a five-minute walk to the town center. Inside, the room is spacious and has a kitchenette with a microwave, dishwasher, induction cooktop, and refrigerator. There’s also a shower, though it’s a bit narrow. The bed setup is awkward: three beds against the wall, two singles and a double, and it’s easy to hit your head on the alcove getting into bed. The mattresses were too soft.
