Gasthof Hirsch

Breakfast was excellent, with cereals, boiled eggs, bread, and a good choice of meats, cheeses, and yogurts. Our recently renovated bedroom and ensuite were spotless and spacious, and the beds were comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. There was even a bottle of sparkling water in the room, a nice touch. We stayed one night on 13.6.23 and thought it was good value. The owner was friendly and helpful, and storing our two bicycles safely inside was no trouble. We’d be happy to stay again.

We loved the breakfast, and the staff were really nice. Gengenbach centre is about a five-minute walk away. Our room was bright and comfortable, with plenty of space for a big bed, a sofa, and a small dining table. Getting into the building was confusing when we arrived at 9 pm, and there wasn’t much light near the entrance. The host helped us over the phone, though.

We spent a week here and enjoyed the roomy, clean room and breakfast each morning. The heater worked surprisingly well, keeping the room warm and comfortable, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The only snag was a slightly unstable Wi-Fi signal. Everything else was good, highly recommended!

We had a very pleasant three-night summer stay. The guesthouse is on a quiet street in Gengenbach, which is a very good location, though the town itself is rather small. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but don’t expect a formal hotel. It’s run from the restaurant, which was closed for a staff holiday while we were there. They left instructions for getting into our room, kept up the cleaning service, and opened the restaurant just for breakfast.
