AKZENT Hotel Roter Ochse

The welcome and service were so nice, and the hotel’s location is a big plus. It’s a cozy, charming place, and we hope to return sometime. The room was small but fine for one night with our family of three. It was clean apart from underneath the bed, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was the best I’ve had in many years of travelling in different countries, with great quality and plenty of variety. I’d absolutely recommend it.

The hotel is built into the city wall, with lots of charming little spots to explore, and public transport is very convenient. The town itself is lovely. Each morning, breakfast was wonderful, with plenty of options. Our room was clean, comfortable, and laid out well. The people at reception were friendly and helpful, with suggestions for local things to do and advice on getting around.

The smell of the canal in my room is what stands out in my review. The staff were keen to sort it out, but their efforts didn’t help much. A shame, because otherwise it’s a nice place. It has the basics you’d expect from a 3* hotel: an OK breakfast, a nice restaurant, free parking that’s fairly basic, and working wifi.

The evening meal was the best we had during two weeks of travelling. The owners were so helpful and pointed us in the right direction, too. It’s a lovely hotel in a wonderful spot by the Rhine, with great walks nearby. Highly recommended, thank you!
