Holiday Inn Express Rosenheim by IHG

The rooms are a decent size, and breakfast was above average for this kind of hotel. My first room had nasty brown stains on the carpet, but the receptionist quickly found me a clean one, even before our check-in time. You can walk to everything from here. There’s paid parking in a structure across the street. Pretty standard for the price.

The breakfast that came with the stay was among the worst I’ve had. The eggs tasted funny, the bacon was chewy, almost like plastic, and even the pastries couldn’t make up for it. Inedible. At 174€/night (AUD339) for a double room, this hotel is massively overpriced for the accommodation. The rooms were among the smallest I’ve stayed in, and they weren’t very clean. Coffee and tea stains covered the very dated carpets. I asked to change rooms because the stains in my first room were so bad it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. There wasn’t even a complimentary bottle of water. For that exorbitant price, the stay was extremely disappointing. I definitely won’t stay at the Holiday Inn again.

After a drive of more than six hours from Italy, we arrived exhausted and expected an easy check-in and a comfortable room. Instead, the air conditioning didn’t work, the light switch made a buzzing electrical sound, and the phone was out of order, so I couldn’t call reception and had to go down in person. The front desk staff member said he’d come to check within five minutes. Given how tired we were after the long journey, I felt these problems should have been treated as a high priority. When he eventually arrived and confirmed them, he said we’d be moved to another room. The room change was delayed, and I had to return to reception to follow up. We were eventually given a different room, but its walls were dirty too. I was disappointed with both the service and the room conditions. I strongly recommend that management improve response times, prioritize guest comfort and safety, and make sure rooms meet cleanliness standards before check-in.

The rooms were very clean, and the place was excellent. The staff were especially friendly and helpful. Thanks to Jerome, who went out of his way to make our stay memorable.
