The location made our Christmas market visit and walk around town really easy, and we got the closest parking spot to the hotel, just behind it. The hotel advertises a garage, but it was full when we were there, so plan ahead if you're driving. You can also buy toys, Christmas cards, and postcards in the hotel, which was handy. The Bavarian rustic decor is charming, and the lobby and rest of the hotel look as nice as Rothenburg itself. Our room and bathroom were exceptionally clean, the water pressure was great, and the radiators kept things warm. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. Breakfast had a good range and the food quality and selection were good, but it got crowded. The breakfast hall is big and has adjoining rooms, though going back and forth between the food table and your own table was a bit inconvenient. Replenishing food took a while, and when I asked for one more boiled egg, I didn't get it. It's life :) Otherwise, a good experience.

Dinner was a highlight, especially the fantastic roast pork. It was some of the better food we had on our Germany trip. Our family room was roomy and comfortable, and we liked the rustic look because it fit the hotel's atmosphere and the town. The location is great, just a stone's throw from the busy part of town and the Christmas market. If you want modern in-room conveniences like a top-notch coffee machine, though, this style may not be for you.

The only catch is that rooms in the village don't have air conditioning, so on warm summer days you need to keep the windows open. Otherwise, we loved the place and will come back. The location is right in the middle of everything, and you can walk all around the village and see the sights. The front desk staff spoke English and were very accommodating. Our room was a nice size, and breakfast was wonderful, with lots of variety and very fresh food.

The staff held our bags while we parked and went exploring, great service. The rooms are clean but simple, the location is awesome, and breakfast is fantastic.
