The Rhine-side location is great, but our stay at Parkhotel Rüdesheim was completely ruined. Around midnight we discovered 11 spiders crawling around the room, and we were so distressed we couldn’t sleep all night. There was nobody at reception to help, so we left early in the morning, exhausted and frustrated. When we told the receptionist, she showed no real concern. She said this happens because the Rhine River is nearby, but offered neither an apology nor a solution. With the lack of cleanliness, guest support and accountability we experienced, I can’t recommend the hotel.

The Rhine-side rooms have one downside: the railway is on that side too, and trains run all night. Otherwise, it’s a wonderful hotel, with a lovely view of the Rhine on one side and rooftops leading toward vineyards on the other. The food was good, the service staff were very friendly, and I’d happily stay again.

Way too much money for this room. For that price, you can find a better hotel. Mine was cramped, noisy enough that I could hear people walking and talking, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work. There wasn’t even a smoke detector. How is that allowed?

The suite was generally fine, but skip the powdered eggs and think twice about using the parking. Our car was double-parked, and it took an attendant more than 40 minutes to move the cars blocking us.

We spent a lovely long weekend here from the 6th to the 10th December. The hotel was clean and tidy, and the staff were very nice and friendly. The Christmas market was brilliant. We’d definitely come back and recommend it. Thanks 👍.
