What let us down most was trying to get in touch with the owners about the cracked coffee pot. Calls, emails and a message on the answering machine all went unanswered. We heard nothing afterward, either. That lack of response is why we can only give one star. Such a waste of a holiday home with so much potential. The apartment itself was a good size and laid out well, and I really liked the kitchen. It was peaceful and relaxing by the pool. But a number of problems affected our comfort: there were no smoke detectors, cables were sticking out, and a huge stain sat behind the couch. The kitchen windows were screwed shut, so we couldn't open them while cooking, which was really inconvenient. The pool ladder was missing, and the grill handle, held on by just one screw, eventually fell off. The swing by the entrance was very old and seemed to be there for decoration.

The pool was great, but its ladder felt extremely unstable. Beside the outdoor shower, a bush covered in little plums dropped fruit everywhere, bringing swarms of wasps. The sunny, spacious terrace had no parasol. We were five friends and expected to use five bedrooms. Instead, the section with two extra rooms was locked because our group had only five people. I was told that the rooms are always allocated according to the number of guests. The upstairs bathroom has a bathtub but no shower. It has been renovated nicely, though the electrical outlets there wobble. There are other things that need attention too. The entry area is overgrown, and the pallet swing is falling apart. The stair rail is sticky, some windows won't open, and the stove loses power when just two burners are on. Cutlery is limited. The furniture is worn, and the chair cushions are badly sagged. For the price, we were all quite disappointed. We have plenty of experience with holiday rentals, and this one has a lot of potential. What a shame.

There are plenty of beds, and the kitchen is well equipped. Still, for what it costs, I expected quite a bit more. It's a decent place to stay, but I wouldn't book it again. On arrival, there was only one nearly empty roll of toilet paper, so bring your own. We also found cobwebs in some corners. The house is nice in itself, but it clearly hasn't had proper maintenance in a while: plaster is peeling, sockets are loose, some windows are hard or impossible to open, and the shutters are broken. The pool ladder also raises serious safety concerns.

The house clearly needs work. It's quite old, as others have mentioned, and renovation is overdue. The outlets in the kitchen and bathroom were very loose, which felt dangerous. The upstairs bedroom's sheet smelled of smoke, and that was unpleasant. We rented it in September for 8 people. For a house this large, the downstairs bathroom is too small, while the upstairs one has only a bathtub and no shower. More work is needed in general.

The beds were the biggest downside for us. The upper-right double bed was uncomfortable, with two different mattresses. The bed by the kitchen was low and unstable, and its thin mattresses made it hard to sleep well. We also had to buy toilet paper. There are some good things here: a friendly landlord, a very large house, roomy bedrooms with double beds, and a large dining table in the living room. The ground-floor bedroom has its own bathroom with a shower and a bunk bed that could suit children. The upstairs bathroom is spacious and has a bathtub. Bed linen and towels are provided, and the large pool was lovely. A lot of the outdoor and leisure items are worn out. The ping-pong table, patio furniture, loungers, wooden swing by the house and grill all need replacing. The parasol didn't work, and its base was old and broken. The kitchen windows are screwed shut and can't be opened. The pool area could also use more care: there are weeds in the corners, and the ground is covered with moss and needs a good clean. We stayed this year with three families and had a lovely week. The value for money was okay, with room for improvement. I hope this is useful for future visitors.
