Dach-Studio-Runkel Schadecker Straße 6

We stayed here in June 2020, two adults and a child, while boating on the Lahn River. The location worked well for that, but the attic studio felt furnished with a jumble of homemade pieces, especially for the fairly high price. The owners seemed unkempt, and the cigarette smell was everywhere, even on the towels. I wish I’d paid closer attention to the Booking.com reviews and the responses on the owners’ website. Replying to an apparently gay couple, the owner wrote on Booking.com, "Furthermore, I offered to forward your payment made to Booking.com to you, as I find guests of your persuasion suspicious." About the same guests, the website said, "I attribute Mr. H.'s behavior and/or review to the fact that my lack of sympathy for the gentlemen may have been apparent." I would have avoided a landlord making remarks that openly homophobic.

Work takes me all over Germany, so I’ve stayed in plenty of apartments and guesthouses and met many landlords. This place was very clean and tidy, and I appreciated how kind and considerate they were about my night shifts. If I’m in the area again, I hope to stay here. Best wishes to you both. Olli

The reply I got after asking about the price was, in my opinion, deeply cynical. The offer was €8,465 for nine nights, and it still appears to be listed at that amount. I saved and printed it for my records. Since the system wouldn’t let me give a negative score, I had to give one point, which wasn’t deserved. I found the offer for Dach-Studio-Runkel, Schadecker Straße 6, on Booking.com while looking for somewhere to stay from April 14 to 23, 2022. Given the studio’s size and furnishings, some of which looked like leftover furniture, I thought the price must be a listing error, perhaps a misplaced decimal point. I then sent Booking.com an ironic question. In its email, it quoted my message from Wednesday, April 6, 2022: "Good day, for the period I'm looking for, from April 14 to 23, 2022, I'm being shown a price of 8465 euros. Will they be installing gold-plated faucets by then, and will there be caviar served daily, or what justifies this price? Sincerely" Booking.com said it would email me when the accommodation replied. Eleven minutes later, it sent the response from Dach-Studio-Runkel, Schadecker Straße 6: "Dear Sir/Madam, thank you for your inquiry. Gold-plated faucets are installed. Pricing remains solely at our discretion. Sincerely, B.... E..." The sender’s name, presumably the owner’s, was written out in full in the original email, and I replaced part of it with periods. Anyone can look at the offer and make up their own mind. The price hasn’t changed.

The host was very welcoming and kind, and the place was clean and quiet with all the amenities. It seems well suited to a family with two children. I recommend it!
