Gutshof Hessenburg

The Alte Schmiede served delicious food, and I enjoyed the stimulating company of other guests, including writers and artists. In the evening, take a bike out and catch the sunset on the Bodden. I came to the Hessenburg Manor for a few days away from Berlin on a friend's recommendation, and was thrilled. The venerable manor house has been beautifully renovated. Its rooms feel modern and luxurious while fitting naturally into the historic building, with exposed brick that brings to mind a New York loft. I felt at home and slept well. The fresh country air made walks through the magnificent historic park a pleasure. A pair of storks nests on a tall mast at the manor, and I heard they return every year to breed. I'm already looking forward to seeing them next summer. There's also a fascinating museum dedicated to the crane. It explores the subject in a varied way, from kid-friendly displays and historical artifacts to contemporary installation art. It really gives the cultural side of the place a heart.

If you need to get away from work or personal life and just want quiet, this is a great place. The atmosphere is wonderful, the accommodations very clean, and the staff are friendly and always available. It's a bit far from Zingst or Prero, but I still highly recommend it.

Such a beautiful, one-of-a-kind place, with a breathtaking setting and real peace and relaxation. It doesn't feel like a typical hotel at all. We'll be back soon ❤️

A lovely place to properly unwind or explore the area. Everything is tastefully put together and run with care. It's wonderful here!
