The city view is lovely, but getting to the hotel is a bit awkward. You need a taxi, an Uber, or the funicular when it’s running, and the winter hours are limited. It’s an older place and didn’t feel like a four-star hotel to me. The rooms are very small and the bed quite firm. It fell short of what we hoped for on our one-night Heidelberg stay.

I was invited to a private party here and ended up pleasantly surprised. The hotel is set among green trees, with a wonderful location and a stunning view, especially at sunset. The facilities were clean, the food was good, and the service wasn’t bad. I recommend visiting.

We had a spacious room with modern updates and everything we needed, and the breakfast was excellent. The view couldn’t be better, and Heidelberg Castle is literally steps away. It was a fun place to stay. We even got to enjoy a drink in the middle of a wedding reception we weren’t attending, and everyone made us feel welcome.

I was there for a wedding over the weekend. The hotel is really nice, the staff are friendly, and the decor looked great with the table set up nicely. But since they advertise as a four-star hotel, I’d expect more attention to small details. I work in hotels too, and noticed the waiters didn’t seem to care which glasses they used for wine. White wine came in red wine glasses, and the reverse happened too. Quite a few things that matter at a four-star hotel weren’t really followed.

The view is gorgeous, the location is lovely, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The facilities feel dated, though, and the food was mediocre. The network setup also falls short of what you’d expect from a place aiming to be a modern conference hotel.
