Neu Heidelberg Hotel & Apartments

I’m posting this again because the hotel still hasn’t replied. Our stay at Wohlfühl-Hotel Neu Heidelberg was deeply disappointing, and the room we were given was extremely dusty, as though it hadn’t been cleaned or used in a long time. We had booked well in advance, so the room should have been ready for us. The worst part happened on the evening of April 17 of this year. We got back shortly after 10:00 PM, but reception was unattended and we had no keys because we were meant to change rooms that evening. We called the emergency number as instructed. When the manager arrived, he shouted at us, acted aggressively, and ordered us to leave at 11:00 PM. Being told to leave in a foreign city late at night felt unsafe as well as completely unacceptable. I can’t help wondering if our nationality played a part in how the manager treated us. As non-German guests, we felt we may have been shown less respect because of prejudice. That concern deserves to be taken seriously. Hotel management should treat every guest professionally, whatever the circumstances. I’m formally asking for a written apology and an explanation of what the hotel is doing internally to prevent this from happening again. Please respond within 7 days. If I don’t receive a satisfactory reply, I’ll take the matter to the appropriate consumer and tourism authorities and share the experience on major travel review platforms.

It’s a quiet spot, which suited me, and the location was fine. I stayed five days. Parking is limited, but I found it easy enough, with a few free spaces out front and paid parking behind the hotel. No one paid for the back parking during my stay. The hotel itself is small, tidy, and well maintained. My room was on the top floor and had a balcony. The room was decent, and both women at the front desk were cheerful and professional. Breakfast was standard. I’d rather go to a bakery in Germany for breakfast myself. Still, I had a good stay.

The breakfast was superb and the other food was excellent. I had a very pleasant stay in this modern hotel. My room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a fairly short walk to a tram stop. Highly recommended.

I spent six months here on a long business trip, and it worked really well for home office. The rooms have a large desk and comfortable chair, and the beds are big and comfortable too. Everyone on the hotel staff was friendly and helpful, including when they accepted all the parcels and letters sent to me. Communication was always easy since everyone spoke English. A great place to stay.
