It’s 3:21 a.m. and I’m literally sleeping on the cold tile floor in the hallway by the stairs. There are two doors between me and my room, and one is completely jammed. I tried for two hours to open it without any luck. Nobody is working, and the hotel won’t answer my call. I flew all the way from the United States just to sleep outside my room. This is miserable and unbelievable. There’s also lots of mold on the bathroom ceiling and blood on the bedsheets. Germany is great, but this hotel is terrible.

The hotel is an easy walk straight from the Central Train Station, and it’s right by one of the few train stops in Saarbrücken. The surroundings were quiet, and I enjoyed my stay throughout. I was there for 10 nights in July 2018. I’d booked a single room with a shared bathroom but got upgraded to a single room with my own bathroom. I arrived at 8 p.m., after reception had closed, and pedestrians helped me call using the German instructions on the door so I could get my key. The room was small, but I think it was worth what I paid. I skipped breakfast since there are cheap Turkish kebabs nearby, as well as a supermarket.

There were still clothes, including underwear, from the previous guest on the heater and cap. The room was dirty, the bathroom smelled really strong, and the corridors smelled of weed at night.

I don’t recommend this 'Hostel'. I’ve said in some other reviews I wrote recently that I don’t recommend any hotels at all. Even when I come across a fantastic place hidden away somewhere, I only suggest visiting it yourself and making your own experience. This location is no different.
