The room is cheap, sure, but it comes with some catches. There's no owner on site. If you receive an email with your room number and a code, you have to collect the key from the box to the right of the entrance. Without that, you can't get in, no matter how often you knock. There's no doorbell either. I had no internet or email access and don't speak German, so I couldn't call the owner. The hotel has no Wi-Fi, breakfast, dinner, or kettle. It took me two hours to find internet access, load my email, locate the message, work out the code and which box to use, then figure out how to open it and get the key. I hope this review helps.

The rooms are roomy, with a huge bathroom and a shower that has good pressure. Heating worked well, and the Wi-Fi was fast. It's a little dated, but there wasn't anything that bothered me. The bar downstairs is fairly priced and seems to draw mostly locals. Staff were friendly, though they didn't speak English or French, and we managed fine. Breakfast is basic, with a few cafés just a short walk away. I'd recommend staying here.

The location is one of the hotel's best points, very close to the city center, and the room had everything we needed. A couple of things were awkward, though: the toilet door is transparent for some reason, and there was no soap or shampoo for the shower. We could also hear people walking on the creaky upstairs floor.
