Villa Keller

Dinner here was so good, with creative food and care in the details. The service was excellent too. Everyone was friendly, intelligent, and had great decorum. I can’t think of anything they could have done better.

The views are amazing, the rooms are cosy, the food is good, and the staff are friendly. But there were plenty of things that weren’t so good. There’s no proper reception or sign for one, they just check you in from the hallway. None of the towels were changed, and there were lots of cobwebs in the room corners. The bathroom smelled of drains. The heating could have been better, and the radiators were very loud. On the second floor, the windows were draughty and the trains were quite loud. Service at the outside restaurant was very slow.

Traffic made us arrive late, and there was nobody there, so we had to sleep in the car. The next day, the lady at reception was extremely apologetic and gave us free breakfast and a room to freshen up. So I’m not even mad.

After driving for 3 hours and flying for 2, we arrived to find an empty hotel and couldn’t check in. No one was there, and nobody answered when we called several times. We walked around the hotel, restaurant, and beer garden, knocking, but got no response. It looked like we were the only guests that night, and they didn’t want to honor our reservation. I’m baffled that this place stays in business. We had to scramble to find another hotel. Infuriating!
