Dinner became the part of our stay we looked forward to most. A regular told us the restaurant brings in different chefs seasonally, and the meals really impressed us: always three courses, nicely sized portions, and familiar dishes paced in a way that made them a treat. I had the best omelette of my life there. The house wine is well chosen too. The hotel itself has an old-fashioned look, so there’s no elevator, but our top-floor room turned out to have the best lake view. It was modern and tastefully decorated, with a few antique touches. There’s plenty of parking outside, and the lakeside path connects right to the hotel. That view is so peaceful and beautiful, you have to see it yourself. Dogs are welcome, which is another plus. We also had a mix-up because my partner emailed the wrong dates for our reservation. The receptionist, who was also the owner, was very kind and luckily had a room free when we arrived. The restaurant staff were just as friendly and attentive. We had such a memorable stay that I took a while to write this. I only tend to review places when they’re amazing or terrible, and this was definitely amazing. I’d highly recommend it for a relaxing getaway.
