Consulat des Weins

We slept really well in the comfy beds, and the rooms were modern and clean. The restaurant was good, and breakfast was great, with eggs freshly cooked or baked. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. There's also the Herrengut wineceller, where you can taste all the wines you want for free and buy as many bottles as you like. Great combination with the hotel. See you next year!

We were pleasantly surprised by how welcoming this large hotel felt. The rooms were roomy and comfortable, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. The half-board deal included a very good breakfast selection, afternoon cake or a cheese and sausage plate with coffee, and an excellent dinner restaurant with several vegetarian choices. It's on the edge of St. Martin, about a five-minute walk to the center, with a bus stop right outside. There's lots of parking and a locked bike room. A great starting point for exploring the Palatinate on foot, by public transport, bike, or car. We're already looking forward to coming back!

I've stayed here three times, but this visit didn't give me the same feeling as the first two. Dinner service was slow and poor. They brought the wrong main course, so we had to eat in turns, and after a long wait my husband's lemon sorbet, which he'd been looking forward to for months, was replaced with mango and kiwi, with no explanation. The coffee machine was out of order too. On the plus side, breakfast service was wonderful, and so were the people working in the wine cellar.
