The house is right on the loop of a child mountain walk, which worked great for our tired little legs. It’s a lovely base for hiking with the family or exploring local trails. The rooms are large, and there’s a nice terrace for watching the sunset. Service was friendly and the house was very clean. If you’re into the outdoors and want a cozy, well-kept, clean place, don’t hesitate to stay here.

The accommodation is cozy and looks just like the pictures. It’s old, but very well maintained, and the area is great for hiking. We took off two stars because of the friendliness. We asked the host for another roll of toilet paper and were told only the initial supply is included. Ms. D. manages the house, and she was very unfriendly. I don’t think she realizes how snarky her replies sound. There’s definitely room for improvement in hospitality.

The hosts were exceptionally friendly, and the view was breathtaking. Everything was very clean, and the house is in a beautiful location. We’ll be back soon, especially since it’s such a nice area for hiking.

We had fantastic weather in September 2020, and managed to swim every day. It was a wonderful getaway at the beautiful Straubehof. Our sincere thanks to the Spengler family and Mrs. Decker, the heart and soul of the place.
