Salischer Hof

The restaurant is very good when it's open, but on Wednesdays you'll need to eat elsewhere. There are a couple of decent options, including one just a few doors away. Parking is plentiful, though it gets tight if you arrive after 7.00pm. The rooms are acceptable, but the bathrooms in the "new house" seem a little old and tired. Overall, it was good.

Loved the atmosphere, and the rooms were clean and cosy. The outdoor decorations are amazing, and wow, breakfast was ridiculously good ❤️

The restaurant was amazing, breakfast was good, parking was free, the staff were helpful, and the TV was a good size. For the price, it's a good hotel. I'd like a bit more choice at breakfast, and better eggs and coffee would be nice. Be careful with the room options when booking: tick the quiet room box if you want one. I didn't, since I'm a loud person who stays up late watching TV, and assumed quiet rooms were meant for people who really needed them, like a quiet car on a train. I ended up on the ground floor facing the Main Road. It's busy and very LOUD, with cars passing day and night. In summer, you'd have to open the windows. They could fix the road noise by adding air-conditioning to those noisy rooms and sealing the windows. The shower head kept pushing the curtain aside, leaving the bathroom floor really wet. There's no fridge in the room either. I bring my YETTI cup on holiday, so I got ice from the bar for cold drinks, but had to keep going back for it. I'd stay again, and next time I'll definitely tick the quiet room box. Without those two issues, I would've given the stay five stars.

This hotel was a happy surprise, really great in every way. The restaurant is superb, and the site looks really cool at night.
