We kept talking about the food after we got home. Breakfast was just right, and dinner was incredible. The hotel itself is understated, with really big rooms and comfortable, roomy beds. It’s pet friendly and the staff were incredibly accommodating. You can head out on walks right from the hotel, with options for young and old as well as dogs. It’s secluded and away from Winterberg’s bustle. There’s a sauna and a small gym, which was great too. Highly recommend!

The restaurant food was delicious, a ten out of ten for me, and the service was just as good. This feels like a family hotel, with only 21 rooms. Our room was very clean and spacious enough for my husband, our ten month old baby, and me, including room for her to play on the floor. The decor mixes older furniture with more modern pieces, and the bathroom is clean and contemporary. The hotel sits among green woods in Bad Freeburg, in a peaceful spot away from crowds, with plenty of walking trails. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend it.

The sauna was a lovely extra, and dogs are welcome too. We also enjoyed the friendly service, the great rooms, and both breakfast and dinner.
