The setting is peaceful and central, and the location itself is lovely. Still, at €75 for an adult and a child, I expected more. The hotel is very dated, and the bedding had stains; there was mold on both the shower and bathroom ceiling. Breakfast was a disgrace, with reheated rolls, dry sausage, and poor cleanliness. The owner was friendly and clearly trying, but that wasn't enough. What a shame.

The owners were very welcoming, and even our dog got a treat in the bowls provided. The beds were comfortable, and the place offers good value. The shower is a little dated and could use an update, though. Rooms are furnished simply and practically. Breakfast had plenty of food and a wide choice, comparable to a 3-star hotel. They even asked how I wanted my eggs cooked. Payment was easy too, whether by card or email invoice. I'll definitely return. It was a bit confusing when nobody answered the first time we rang, so a sign outside pointing to the hotel entrance might help. I'd highly recommend it for a short break.

Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with a generous amount and enough choices for everyone. The hosts were friendly, the beds comfortable, and the clean, fresh bathroom had a shower and toilet. There's free Wi-Fi and a TV in the room, and if you need anything, just ask and they'll provide it. The hotel is a little dated, but that gives it a certain charm. Most people might not notice that it was built on a former ruin and still has some of its features. All in all, we had a great stay.

We booked half board this time, and the meals were fine. One meal let you pick meat, fish, or vegetarian; the next was a surprise menu. The staff could be friendly or rather businesslike, depending on who you dealt with. It's a beautiful hotel, and our room was very spacious. The price felt fair for the quality. The restaurant shuts after dinner, around 9 or perhaps 9:30, I think, and there's no bar or similar option afterward. There are plenty of nice places within walking distance, so that isn't really a problem. The pool, unfortunately, was closed. We hadn't been told this when we booked through Travelbird, and access to it was one of the reasons we chose the hotel. :-(
