Hotel Gasthaus Trster

Beautiful nature and lots of hiking trails nearby, with a silence that's really relaxing. The hotel is cosy, rustic and clean, with friendly service, a good breakfast buffet and dinner. There are hardly any vegetarian options, though.

A quiet, clean hotel that's well maintained.

My husband, our dog and I stayed at Hotel Gasthaus Tröster from 29.12. to 02.01. We felt welcome as soon as we arrived, and they explained the main things about the hotel and the area. The room was simple but had everything we needed. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and there was enough space to spend a lazy day inside. Breakfast was simple too, but very tasty. For dinner, we could choose a three-course meal each day for a fair extra charge, and the food was very good every time. The village is very quiet, and there currently aren't any other places to eat in town. That didn't bother us because the hotel's food was so good. You can drive a few minutes to livelier places, or enjoy the peace and explore the many great hiking trails. Our stay was perfect as it was, and we'd be happy to come back. Thanks for the good hospitality!

We found Gasthaus Tröster at short notice while looking for somewhere to stay during a visit to friends. It's a little out of the way from Schmallenberg, but close to our friends' house, and we were completely satisfied with our stay. If you prefer modern, stylish, well-organized hotels, this probably isn't the right place for you. We like somewhere rustic and charming where you can relax, and we felt really comfortable here. The room was clean, breakfast had an adequate selection, and Mr. Tröster was very friendly and welcoming. We can easily imagine staying at Gasthaus Tröster again when visiting our friends.
