Studio im Ferienpark in Schoneck

This is an old hotel, and there’s no room service. The management has a lot of hidden costs. This is the first hotel where we’ve had to pay for parking, with no free parking space available. It was 7 EUR per night, with no discounts. Changing towels costs extra, 1 EUR for the small yellow ones and 2 EUR for the big white ones. The food was decent, I’d say, though you have to like buffet breakfast and dinner.

The carpet was extremely dusty and looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. Anyone with asthma may not be able to tolerate the place. The hotel is old and in the middle of nowhere. There were no restaurants open, and no kettle or fridge in the room. When my partner got sick and needed a cup of tea, there was nothing to serve and no room service. What kind of hotel is that? The sauna is nude-only, and the staff there were very rude. I don’t know how this place has a 4-star rating on Google Maps. This was the worst place to stay!

Inside the pool area there’s no food or drink available, and the changing rooms are cramped and sometimes smell a bit. Parking is about a five-minute walk away. We come here because it’s the only pool of its kind in the whole area. For a family of five, including three children, three hours cost 50 Euros, which seems rather steep. There are two slides, plus an artificial wave in the lower pool every hour for five to ten minutes. The views are amazing when it’s sunny. Still, being the only pool of its kind, it’s a bit take it or leave it.

I arrived at 8:30pm after a very long journey, starving, only to find that food wasn’t available past 8pm. The staff were very rude and unfriendly. It was probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The rooms are very old and not very clean, and the carpet and curtains look like they’ve never been cleaned. The dust caused me a lot of pain as someone with asthma. There was no fridge or even a kettle, and the shower was tiny with poor water pressure. Would not recommend.
