We used the apartment as a handy base for driving to the castles around the region, and there are also lovely hikes around the village with magnificent views. A big playground is close by too. The owners live next door and were super friendly, and they offered us a few rides at their horse farm. Inside, it felt like home, with all the kitchen tools and appliances we needed and tons of toys for the kids. Such a perfect place to spend a few days unwinding in the Bavarian countryside. It was very clean.

The walks start right at the doorstep: "Talweg" behind Schönberg village and "Sonnenbichl" in front, with valley and sunset views, meadows and snow-covered mountains, horse and cow pastures, plus benches along the way. It's also a convenient base for Garmisch & Zugspitze, Mittenwald, Ettal abbey, Murnau, Wieskirche, Ober & Unterammergau, Neuschwanstein and Linderhof castles. Inside, the place is spacious, clean and well equipped, with a full kitchen, comfortable beds, a bathroom with both a shower stall and bath, and balconies with great views. The hosts are very friendly, and there are lots of toys and books for kids. You can hear roosters, church bells, horses and cows outside, but the sound-proofed windows made for peaceful sleep. My only small gripe was the slow wifi, especially since it cost extra and was limited to one device at a time. Such a great find. We wholeheartedly recommend it and will definitely come back sometime.

Our children were very comfortable in the playroom, which was full of toys, and we're already looking forward to coming back. From the living room window, you can even see the Zugspitze on a clear day. We've stayed in plenty of vacation rentals, and this is one of the best. The apartment is beautiful, spacious and exceptionally well equipped, with nothing missing. The friendly, welcoming landlady has clearly put thought into every detail, and the furnishings and decor are all in excellent condition and very high quality.
