Villa Ludwig Suite Hotel & Chalet

The hotel itself is small and beautiful, near the famous Neuschwanstein castle. The rooms and suites are very nice, and the castle view from the rooms with a view is amazing. But the management was unreliable, which was really disappointing. We booked a super suite with two separate rooms and a castle view, then arrived to find they’d given it up and put us in a one-room suite. We’d also booked a second room for another couple travelling with us. At first they told us some nonsense about upgrading us by putting our rooms and the other couple’s room in the same building. That was a joke. They took us for idiots. After we complained, the manager came with a twitched face, and after an endless discussion they finally offered two separate rooms: a suite with a view and another room without one. That kind of worked, but it wasn’t what we’d booked or wanted. It’s very disappointing to book, provide a visa for the guarantee, reconfirm, and even check in online, then find your room has been given up when you arrive. The booking confirmation is a legally binding transaction, so this is unacceptable. Beautiful hotel, unreliable management.

The staff member who helped us was so welcoming, and I’m really grateful for her useful advice. Our room was very spacious, with an amazing view of Neuschwanstein Castle. The setting around the hotel is beautiful, and it’s very convenient for visiting the castle.

Jessica had everything so well organized, and both breakfast and our evening meals were delicious. The dinners were at a typical Bavarian restaurant in the village, also owned and run by the same company. We had several lovely views of Neuschwanstein from our room, including from the bed and bathtub. The underground parking was spotless, with spaces large enough for vehicles like ours. The location made visiting both Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles incredibly easy. Our stay was perfect from beginning to end, and I hope we can return soon.

The room had amazing mountain and castle views, and the hotel was very clean and up to date. Breakfast was excellent, with good snack and drink options too. Parking was plentiful, and the staff were very focused on guests. It’s close to the bus and within walking distance of town, which made it a great base for exploring the area.
